An old and unique Abelam Karawut. The Karawut has served over time as a protective war charm used to evoke spiritual protection for the wearer and intimidate one's enemy. Often worn gripped between the teeth to create a sense of terror. Small nassa shells are delicately attached to the fiber body and natural red pigments have been applied.
