An expressive hard wood Yina figure with the classic artistic features of the Kwoma/Nukuma people. Vibrant modern paints were used to bring the piece back into ceremonial use. These carved heads represent ancient and powerful spirits whilst active in Yam rituals, used over time with updated applications of pigment.
