A finely fiber woven "Wafu", nassa shell currency from the Lumi people of West Sepik Province. Primarily used as a form of bride price transactions, pieces such as this were also worn on the back and chest as a personal adornment. Large versions are also known to have been used as burial cloths or in healing ceremonies.
